Joseph Vrindten, 54, Of Oakland

OAKLAND, N.J. -- Joseph Vrindten, of Oakland, died Nov. 20. He was 54.

He was born in Stamford Conn. in 1962 and raised in Oakland. He graduated from Don Bosco Prep and William Paterson University, where he received his degree in business administration. He worked as a financial adviser for Prudential for 29 years and was a member of the LUTCF, CLTC and Ridgewood Business Connections. He also spent many years as a coach for Vernon Youth Soccer League and the Vernon PAL Softball League.

He is survived by his wife, Erin; twin daughters, Amanda and Brittany; parents, Joseph and Patricia; siblings, James, Robert (deceased) and Mary Vrindten-Beckert and her husband Mark. 

A viewing will be conducted from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland. There wil be a funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church, 17 Pompton Ave., Pompton Lakes followed by burial at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
